STUDENT NETWORKING ACTIVITIES

Dear attendees,

on this page, you can find our suggestions for activities to do in and around Brixen.

WINTER FUN AT THE PLOSE MOUNTAIN COMPLEX AND SKI RESORT

The Plose mountain complex is only 7 km from the town center. Public transportation busses can bring you to the bottom of the gondola lift, which will carry you up to the top station at the center of the complex on Mount Plose, where you will be greeted by 43 km of slopes and spectacular vistas across the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site! Once arrived at the top station, at 2050 meters above sea level, you may choose different activities: a 4 km or a 9 km sledge (toboggan) run (RudiRun); skiing (beginners and advanced skiers can hit the slopes on a range of gentle and challenging runs, including South Tyrol’s longest valley run); simple winter hikes, with or without snowshoes (many trails branch off from the central Plose mountain station); an on-rail bobsleigh run (Plosebob).

SKIING

SKI-PASS price (3 h & ½ day): 59 € (high season: 02.02.2025 – 12.03.2025)

Equipment rental prices:

  • 19-47 € (skiis) + 11/13 € (ski boots) + 4€ (helmet)
  • 23/29 € (snowboard) + 11 € (boots) + 4 € (helmet)

Skiing/snowboarding lessons: “private” lessons (14:00 – 16:30):

  • Choice 1 – 65€/h + 20 €/h/person (after 4 hours no extra charge)
  • Choice 2 – 75€/h + 15 €/h/person (after 4 hours no extra charge)

SLEDGING

Toboggan on the RudiRun track (no need for ski-pass).  Toboggan rental is also possible at the Infoshop at the Plose gondola lift mountain station.

WINTER HIKING

No need for ski-pass. Required equipment are hiking shoes or boots, warm clothes, and walking steaks. Snow may be forecasted considered the period.

Trails with (Rossalm lodge hike) or without the use of a sledge/toboggan

PLOSEBOB

Price: 10 € (1 ride, 6 minutes) – Opening hours: 10:00 – 16:00

RELAXING AT THE ACQUARENA WATER AND WELLNESS CENTER

Acquarena offers water fun and relaxing water activities right in the heart of Brixen:

POOLS

(also with sports pool, whirlpool, salt-water pool, and infrared cabin)

  • Pool opening hours: 09:00 – 21:45 (22:00)
  • Pool prices: 8 € (1.5 h) / 13 € (3 h) / 15 € (full day)

SAUNAS

Two Finnish outdoor saunas, a Finnish indoor sauna, a bio sauna, a herbal sauna, the Salionarium, a steam bath, and two Kneipp water-treading basins; professional sauna infusions, creams and scrubs enhance the whole experience.

  • Sauna opening hours: 13:00 – 21:45 (22:00)
  • Sauna prices: 20 € (2 h) / 29 € (3 h) / 35 € (full day)

VISIT TO EURAC LABORATORIES

EURAC research has granted the attendees of the school a visit to their laboratories in Bozen. The visit is programmed on Friday at 15:00. Attendees can register at the following link before February 06 (https://doodle.com/meeting/participate/id/bWplomod) and are required to arrange their own transportation to EURAC (It is suggested to take the train before 12:00).
